I am the accidental hippie. Not the traditional 1960’s kind of hippie, but the new age 2015 type of hippie. I’m a daughter, a wife, and a full-time working mommy. I never thought I would be making my own baby food or lotions, but here I am…in a perpetual cloud of lavender and patchouli oil scent. I love my new found love for all things natural and toxic free. The road to discovery was sometimes painful and always challenging, but I always faced it head on and with sheer determination. Throughout my journey I discovered a lot about myself and my love of this way of life. I get excited to try new recipes, new cleaning products and homeopathic cures. I love the smell of fresh cut grass and the smell of my daughters bedroom. I eat as healthy as I can…but let’s face it…I am human! I try and feed my family clean foods…but let’s face it…I am human! I’m not perfect, nor do I claim to be, I have made mistakes and I have cried. Life is a journey and I like to think that I have finally found my path and this is my journey down that path. This is the journey of the accidental hippie.
Love this…hope to continue to be able to read your posts. PS I was one of the 1960,70 hippies living off the land in Thorndike when Gram was born!

I’m one as well. It’s so satisfying simplifying my life and knowing I’m healthier for it. I’m heavily into Young Living essential oils now. LOVE EM! Yesterday I made Lavender Honey lotion bars — they smell and feel so good — with bees was, coconut oil, olive oil, honey and lavender essential oil. Trying to detox my home from toxins and pollutants. Looking forward to following your discoveries.
