Over the weekend I bought up the produce section of the grocery store to prepare myself for the week of clean! I was shocked to see how much money I had to spend to yield a mason jar worth of liquid. Nothing healthy is cheap and juicing is no exception. I had a blast juicing and bean loved standing next to me on the step stool helping every step of the way…and to my surprise, she LOVED the juice! I can attest to the fact that the juice is delicious, not at all what I expected it to be. I thought it would taste like dirt, but is actually tastes sweet and very refreshing.
Well here I am sitting in front of my computer day dreaming of anything and everything salty, crunchy, and doughy. Today is DAY 1 of the cleanse. I juiced enough juice last night to fill 9 mason jars (enough for about 2.5 days), made a weeks worth of dinner for the hubby and bean, and gave a sad look to the pumpkin bread I made…knowing I was just going to be looking at it all week. None the less…I’m ready!!!!!!! I woke up this morning feeling ready to kick the juice cleanse into over drive. I had my warm 2 cups of water with lemon and ginger followed by my breakfast of juice apples, carrots and a lemon. Not bad, so far. I feel a bit tired as I would normally sip on my warm and delicious cup of coffee, but I have coconut water to fill that void! I have a juice of apples, cucumbers, kale and parsley to look forward to during lunch followed by my afternoon snack of apple, beet and carrot. I can’t wait for the energized, euphoric effects everyone is talking about. In the mean time I will wait for the waves of hunger pains to subside and the incredible urge to devour anything salty.
With the holidays behind me I thought this would be a good time to start a blog and detox. Why not! Blog started now time for the detox. I’m a research nut, I love to find out as much information as possible before I try, buy, or do anything. I did research (as I do with ANYTHING and EVERYTHING) and found what looks like a very legit 5 day juice cleanse. How hard can it be right?!?!?! I have done the 1 day master cleanse…you know the one with only water, lemon and cayenne. So I figured…let’s give it a try. I knew I would need help and who else is as nutty as me…my cousin. So I roped her into it…actually she came along very willingly. So our juice cleanse starts on Monday!!!! YIKES. Now that the word is out I’m getting a bit nervous as everyone is telling me how hard it is. We shall see, just like everything in life, you wont know until you try.
I promised my husband and daughter that I would not make them suffer so I plan on making them dinner, but for me it will be juice for 5 days straight! I think I will really miss the action of chewing…weird to think about, but I have never NOT chewed something for more than a day.
After careful consideration we decided to go with the ‘reboot with joe’ program. It has a vast variety of juices to choose from so if one is not to my liking I can switch to something else. They are all color coded so you can pick the juice concoction in that category. I also liked that it did not include buying anything special (except the fruit and veg), no special juice or supplement. I will keep you posted on my daily progress…or as my husband would say, my daily cranky scale progression!
Wish us luck!!!!!!
Yup…it is that time of year, you know the time when every child is running around with a snot bubble under their nose. My daughter is not the exception. I dread dropping her off at daycare and seeing the 2 other girls in one of the 3 stages of cold. As I’m sure their mom’s are equally thrilled when Sid goes there with her snot bubble. Colds are a part of life and just life every part of life, they are something that we must endure. Endure we do!!!!
This is the story of how I became a believer of essential oils and their amazing abilities.
Well this is OFFICIALLY it…I have started a blog. I have been talking about doing this for about 3 year and I finally got off my butt and did it. After reading several posts I decided 2015 was the year…and here I am. Since I’m new to this, (like 5 minutes new) I guess I should start by tell you a bit about myself. First and foremost, I’m a mommy!!!! I love being a mommy and I would not trade it for anything in the world. I know a lot of women say that, but in my hearts of hearts I know that is what I was meant to do. Yes, there are some very challenging days, but seeing that love in your child’s face is something that can never be replaced! To being a mommy you can add wife to a wonderful man, daughter to two wonderful parents and a full-time working stiff. Needless to say I have a bit on my plate at any given time. We live in Newport, Rhode Island and we absolutely love it. We can be by the beach and enjoy the water…life is good for us.
